翁桁游 (Hengyou Weng)

Dr. Weng is currently a principle investigator in the Department of Basic Research, Guangzhou National Laboratory. After obtaining his Ph.D. degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at Sun Yat-sen University in 2012, he continued his research at the University of Chicago and then University of Cincinnati as a postdoc fellow in Dr. Jianjun Chen’s laboratory. He became an Assistant Research Professor at Beckman Research Institute of City of Hope in 2017.  His research interest focuses on the roles and mechanisms of RNA epigenetic regulation in hematopoiesis and cancer development, and the therapeutic targeting of key epigenetic regulators for cancer treatment. The resulting discoveries have been published in high-profile scientific journals, including Nature, Cell Stem Cell, Cancer Cell, and Nature Cell Biology.

广州实验室研究员，曾任生物岛实验室研究员，博士生导师，国家级高层次人才计划青年项目入选者。2012年于中山大学获生物化学与分子生物学博士学位，随后于美国芝加哥大学、辛辛那提大学陈建军教授实验室进行博士后研究，回国前于美国希望之城贝克曼研究所任研究助理教授。主要研究方向为表观遗传修饰（包括RNA m6A甲基化修饰等）的调控机制以及在正常造血发生及急性髓性白血病发生发展中的作用，以第一或共同第一作者身份在Nature、Cell Stem Cell、Cancer Cell、Nature Cell Biology等期刊发表多篇高水平论文。主持科技部重点研发计划子课题和国自然面上项目等。课题组将利用转基因小鼠、临床样本等继续深入探讨各种重要的表观遗传修饰在造血干细胞干性维持及分化、急性髓性白血病发生及发展、肺的发育及病变等重要的生理和病理过程中的作用。
